We replace the water main (and the source of the problems) and meet our new contractor- Larry. He did about $5K worth of work to get us a good working water main, but only charged us the $1000 he quoted- good man.

More interiors sans carpet (I miss the carpet)

The bed frame is where the refrigerator is supposed to go.

And the poor bathroom- most of the damage was in this room since that was were the water ran for 3 months last winter.

An empty bedroom, but everything looks pretty good considering.

Larry was quick to get started. After only 2 weeks, he already got most of the new subfloor down. It's hard to tell but that's a new floor you're looking at.

And here's the structure that I'm amazed is still working. The gray haze is where the ice built up but luckily this innermost board is still sound- it was the two next to it that had rotted through.

And at long last, the structure has been repaired. Probably for the first time in years, I'm not worried the cabin will fall over at any moment- although it still might, it probably won't be because of this corner anymore.

More rot repaired at the other corner, but not much...

We tore out the shower and the extent of mold and moisture was obvious- good thing we got an all new shower (that I forgot to photograph).

With only very small items remaining, I found myself $55K poorer. But, for the first time in years, we got to spend some time cleaning and boy did the cabin need it.

Go Logan Go!

The nice new (red) carpet and the furniture back in place. We even got to hang things back on the walls that had slowly been removed over the years due to leaks and then the demolition.

The coolest loft in the universe is back to is grandeur.

Nothing like red carpet and a wagon wheel chandelier to set the mood.

Another project one year will be to fix the cabinets above the stove- but we have plenty of smaller projects now.

I need to learn to macrome. The cabin is full of this stuff that is now falling apart 35 years later.

More copies of mom's artwork and a usable bedroom again.

Despite all our hard work over the past couple years, we had professionals replace the roof with new metal shingles. It looks awesome and has a lifetime guarantee.

The shop, not much has changed since last year other than it's slightly more empty (hooray for cleaning)

And the aspens were changing color- too bad the weather wasn't soo great and my camera is kinda whimpy.
